While We Were Here documents my annual return to a Cornish beach shared with my sister and childhood best friend. Reachable only on foot, the beach has remained almost unchanged over time; returning there brings a sense of childhood with it, as we become children again within the landscape.
The work combines analogue photography, collage and handmade salt prints made using seawater collected from the shore. I photograph moments of play among the enormous rocks, where the scale of the landscape and figures creates a dreamlike sense of time and place. Through printing and physically manipulating the images, I explore photography as a way of holding onto a moment — and the people and places we return to, even as everything around them changes.

I Dream in Paper explores grief, memory and the surreal experience of being alive. Using archival material collected over years from old magazines and books, I cut and rearrange fragments of existing imagery to create new, dreamlike worlds that reflect my internal experiences.
The work explores the strange feeling of carrying on when the world feels unfamiliar, and the chaos of holding grief alongside the everyday. By disrupting familiar scenes and placing figures, landscapes and objects into impossible relationships, I use collage to reflect the fragmented and surreal nature of memory, emotion and existence.
Through the physical process of cutting, layering and reconstructing, the project transforms found imagery into personal narratives, creating spaces that sit somewhere between reality, memory and imagination.

ANAOLOGUE PHOTOGRAPHY 2021 - PRESENT
Black and white allows me to slow down and look at the structure of a moment — the way light falls, a figure sits within a landscape, or an overlooked detail changes the feeling of a place. My photographs move between people, architecture and landscape, finding moments that feel quiet, strange or fleeting. I am interested in the ambiguity that comes from removing colour, and in how an ordinary scene can become unfamiliar through the way it is photographed.

ANALOGUE FILM
My colour photography explores the energy and atmosphere created by colour within everyday surroundings. I am drawn to vivid clothing, warm interiors, bright landscapes and unexpected combinations of colour, often finding these moments within ordinary scenes. Working with analogue film, I use its warmth, grain and softness to heighten the character of these places and fleeting encounters, creating images that feel spontaneous, playful and slightly dreamlike.
